RC tanks
If you want to enjoy a different kind of radio action, nothing beats getting
together and hosting a battle with rc tanks. It can be a lot of fun to get friends together and create an obstacle course that lets you shoot
live (but harmless) rounds at each other.
An interesting feature of rc tanks is that you can find radio setups that allow you to control more than one tank at once. Normally you would
never want to do this with a typical radio controlled vehicle because they move so quickly and their movements require utmost concentration and
precision. With slower moving tanks, however, it's not hard for a single general to command a battalion.
You can find rc tanks that record hits and even "stun" a player for five seconds if hit by an infrared beam from another player, or you can go
with models that shoot actual projectiles and simply track the action visually instead of using an infrared system. Either way, it's possible to
keep score but probably more fun to just get out there and have a good time.
If you want to really take your battles to the next level, you can create an obstacle course for your rc tanks similar to a paintball arena
except on a miniature scale. You can use household objects or strategically placed plywood boards to create angles, tunnels and barricades for
tanks to traverse, maneuver around or hide behind. There's almost no limit to what you can do with a little imagination and some friends to join
the fun.
