Nitro RC cars

What exactly is a nitro rc car, and what makes it special? There are a few things that make hobbyists crazy for this vehicle in a way that electric motors just can't touch.

A nitro rc car is named after the fuel it uses to run, or rather, the key ingredient in the fuel that gives it such explosive sound, speed and power. The liquid fuel is a mixture of nitro methane, hence the nickname nitro, methanol, and a form of lubricant which is usually some type of real or synthetic oil, castor oil, or both.

The typical nitro rc car has a two stroke engine that offers incredible power relative to its size. This allows the vehicle to develop aussumn speed and acceleration, with a sound and even a smell that brings out pure adrenaline.

A well built nitro rc car can hit top of speeds of more than 50 miles per hour. On a much rarer scale, nitro cars that have been tuned to perfection by skilled drivers and experienced builders can actually break above 100 miles per hour. That's pretty incredible for a vehicle you can hold in your hands.

How much does a nitro rc car cost? You can spend anywhere from a few hundred dollars to well over a thousand dollars, and there are an incredible number of variations and adjustments you can make to improve your vehicle and make it fit your personal preferences. To really understand nitro, you have to experience it firsthand.
